Virgin Galactic aims to give non-professional people a space experience. Founded by Richard Branson in 2004, the company continues to work to realize the dreams of space enthusiasts. Virgin Galactic, which wants to experience the magnificent Earth view and zero gravity environment by climbing to a certain height, had to postpone its space tourism initiative, which it planned to launch in the last quarter of this year, due to supply problems.

Supply chain problems have also negatively impacted space tourism!

Virgin Galactic announced that it is delaying the launch of its suborbital space tourism service due to growing supply chain issues and workforce constraints. The company stated that the first trips, which are planned to start towards the end of this year, will be made in the first quarter of 2023.

Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier said in a statement:

By developing the future fleet, investing in digital manufacturing technologies and creating a consumer experience like no other. We are implementing our plans in the sector by creating our commercial strategy to present

Against the backdrop of increasing supply chain and workforce constraints, our teams are addressing issues to minimize impact on calendars. We look forward to returning to space in the fourth quarter and starting commercial service in the first quarter of next year.”

Speaking later about supply chain issues, the CEO said that the delivery times for required high-performance metals are getting longer. He also noted that the company is hiring more engineers, but the engineers have spread their time across multiple projects, including the next-generation spacecraft Imagine.

Virgin Galactic, which enables its customers to have an amazing experience by taking them to the edge of space, aims to start their travels as soon as possible. The amount requested from the customers for these 90-minute suborbital tours is 450 thousand dollars.
