How did the Toilet Paper Personality Test come about? Relationship Doctor Gilda Carle, creator of
Toilet Paper Personality Test, begins with the hypothesis that there is a connection between the way we hang and use toilet paper, and our personality. Carle, who surveyed a mixed group of approximately 2000 men and women between the ages of 18-75 from different ethnic origins, asks a few questions about the way they hang and use toilet paper, and how assertive they are towards others.
Stating that the test was created in direct proportion to the results of the survey, Carle states that the results also prove his own hypothesis. Now, in order to understand both Carle’s thoughts and the survey results that serve as proof of these thoughts, let’s see what the test results say!
If you’re hanging toilet paper from top to bottom…
This indicates that you have a dominant personality! Although dominant personalities who break their grips, do not refrain from hitting the table with their fists, and stand out with their leader spirit, are associated with men in many cultures, but as a reminder that such stereotyping is out of the question in Carle’s questionnaire and test.
If you’re hanging toilet paper from the bottom up…
This indicates that you have an obedient personality! Obedience in Carle’s world; It means being able to empathize, being patient and harmonious. Just as dominance is generally associated with men, being obedient is unfortunately associated with women. Carle notes that some of the survey participants changed the way they used the toilet paper anywhere they went to the toilet outside of their own homes.
