Spotify is shutting down its radio-like listening app Stations

Spotify is shutting down the Spotify Stations app, which provided an experience based on experimental “radio” stations that first rolled out in 2018. According to the information revealed, users’ access to the application will be terminated as of May 16.

Spotify Stations debuted in Australia in 2018 and arrived in the US a year later. The app offered a radio-focused experience and offered users a list of radio stations instead of a song or artist library on Spotify.

In email to users: “First, thank you for being the Spotify Stations user we’re testing. We’ve decided not to prolong the rollout of this experience and would like to inform you that as of May 16, 2022, the Stations app and web player will no longer be available.” statements were included.

In a statement made by Spotify, it was stated that experimental applications have an important instructive task to pave the way for a wider user experience, and Spotify Stations application is one of these experimental products.

Spotify Stations app has been removed from both the App Store and Play Store, but the app itself continues to work so users can easily stream their favorite stations to the main Spotify app.
