Apple will pay $15 compensation to some iPhone 4S owners that it deliberately slowed down with iOS 9

Apple has agreed to compensate iPhone 4S owners who allege their devices were intentionally slowed down after the 2015 iOS 9 update. The Cupertino company has finally taken the step to resolve the class action lawsuit filed six years ago.

The lawsuit was filed in December 2015 by a group of iPhone 4S users from New York and New Jersey. Device owners accused Apple of misleadingly marketing the iOS 9 update. Because the company claimed that the update will provide stunning performance on supported devices “including the iPhone 4S”.

$15 per device will be paid

According to the agreement, Apple is working in New York and New York, which experienced a decrease in performance after updating their devices to iOS 9. It allocated $20 million to compensate iPhone 4S owners in New Jersey. Users will receive a $15 per device payment from the company.
