The trend towards virtual reality glasses, which became popular with the concept of metaverse, is increasing. Microsoft announced the second version of its virtual headset series, called HoloLens, at the Mobile World Congress in February 2019. The company will partner with Volkswagen to expand the range of the HoloLens 2 virtual headset.
HoloLens 2 comes to the automobile environment in partnership with Microsoft and Volkswagen
Since 2018, Microsoft and Volkswagen have been working on a “mobile platform” program that will enable HoloLens 2 to be used on the road. Although HoloLens technology was produced for use in harsh and active environments, it did not work efficiently in automobile driving.
Two major companies have announced a new collaborative plan to bring the augmented reality (AR) headset HoloLens within reach. In a way, HoloLens 2 was designed to mimic the way humans experience the surrounding environment. If the partnership achieves its goal, HoloLens 2 will also be used in traffic.
On the other hand, the HoloLens 3 title, which is expected to be the continuation of the series, has literally turned into a snake story. First, it was stated by important sources that the 3rd version of HoloLens VR headsets, which is under development, has been canceled.
Following these rumors, the company made a statement in the past months and stated that HoloLens 3 work continues without any problems. So much so that, according to some sources, the partnership of Microsoft and Volkswagen will continue in the third version of the series.
