Many companies are planning to enter the metaverse or have already in some way. Spotify, one of the world’s most popular music streaming services, has now joined this caravan. Spotify has announced that it has entered the metaverse through a Roblox interactive space called Spotify Island. Here, users can make music, listen to music in virtual venues and access special virtual products of playing artists.
Spotify’s Roblox island has a design suitable for its brand. It’s full of green shapes, colors, and icons you’ll recognize from their apps. Gamification experience is also offered. For example, you can get free items by collecting hearts around. Spotify says exclusive in-game virtual goods will give artists a chance to connect with fans and earn money. The company announced that some of the sales will go to artists, but did not specify a percentage.
Spotify also says its first “themed experience” will launch in a few weeks. K-Park, an adaptation of K-Pop to the world of the metaverse, will give users the ability to interact with Stray Kids and SUNMI artists. Official products of SUNMI and Stray Kids will also be on sale.
