TCL, one of the industry’s leading names in smartphone and panel technologies, has made a revolutionary breakthrough for smartphones. The company’s display department, TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) Corporation, introduced ultra-thin active high-privacy display technology.

Aiming to develop passive screen protectors, which are used today and provide screen privacy by limiting the visibility of the screen to only certain angles, with an active technology, TCL said that the new technology has been successfully produced by the CSOT department.

new by TCL screen technology will not only offer more angular efficiency compared to existing screen privacy solutions, but will also enable screen privacy modes to be changed with the help of one click. However, the electronic configuration and chemical properties of the screen will prevent views from different angles when the 45-degree privacy mode is turned on.
Stating that the new screens developed are only 0.1 mm thicker than traditional AMOLED screens, TCL said that they are currently at the end of the prototype testing phase and they want to start the production of these high privacy active screens as soon as they are ready.
