A remarkable decision has been taken regarding the “YouTube Go” application, which is made available by the US-based technology giant Google for low-performance smartphones. In the statements made by Google, it was stated that YouTube Go will not be available as of August 2022. Google has invited YouTube Go users to use the regular version of the app or the web version of Youtube.
YouTube Go was released in 2017 for budget-friendly Android devices. Available in more than 130 countries and only 10 MB in size, the app was a restricted version of the regular version of YouTube. For example, this little app lacked features such as commenting, posting, content creation, and dark theme.
YouTube’s core app optimized
YouTube Go was specifically optimized for low-end cellular connections as well as low-end phones when it launched in 2017 . In other words, this application was efficient in those years. But changing circumstances have eliminated the need for YouTube Go. Google officials state that the YouTube main application can now be used very efficiently and does not require high-performance phones.
YouTube Go users will have to fend for themselves by August 2022. As we mentioned at the beginning of our news, you can use the web version or main application of YouTube after the application is closed.
