Facebook is constantly adding innovations to its body instead of advancing in a single post type. In the mid-2000s, only podcasts were included in the platform, where only text and photos were shared, last year. However, the Stories feature, which comes to every platform from Snapchat to Spotify, came to Facebook a long time ago. However, Facebook chooses to withdraw this time. With the announced step, the company will not be a competitor to Apple and Spotify.
Facebook removes podcast feature
With the podcast feature introduced a year ago, it was possible for everyone to share their podcasts with their friends. This feature allowed users to upload directly to Facebook, unlike linking to podcasts shared elsewhere. However, the feature is being removed because Facebook is not seen as a podcast platform and makes no sense when podcasts are limited to Facebook friends.
If you are still one of those who use Facebook and even publish podcasts, you will be blocked from posting a new episode this week. The company explained this decision with the following statements: “We are constantly evaluating the features we offer so we can focus on the most meaningful experiences.”
Facebook had tried its Clubhouse-like feature before, but the atmosphere of Clubhouse faded quickly, and the platforms that copied the idea could not maintain the feature. While Facebook still maintains its Clubhouse-like feature, it’s possible that it won’t last long either.
Did you guys use the podcast feature on Facebook?
