Apple has extended the deadline for developers to update their apps, following the backlash after saying that any app that hasn’t been updated for a long time will be pulled from the App Store.
Duration increased to 90 days
Recently, Apple said that if their apps haven’t been updated in three years and haven’t been able to get enough downloads for 12 months, they’ll send a notification that they’ll be removed from the App Store if they don’t update their apps within 30 days.
Evaluating the reactions from many developers after this statement, Apple decided to extend the 30-day period and announced that developers would be given up to 90 days to update their applications.
In a post about the new update, the company said: “Apple always wants to help developers get and keep quality software in the App Store. For this reason, developers can object to app removals. Even those that have recently received a notification. Developers will now be given up to 90 more days to update their apps if needed.” made statements.
