Samsung Asset Management to List Asia’s First Blockchain ETF

Samsung Asset Management, Korea’s largest asset manager, will list Asia’s first blockchain ETF in Hong Kong.

According to a news shared by South Korean business newspaper Hankyung, Samsung Asset Management plans to launch a blockchain ETF in Hong Kong before July. If realized, it will be the first ETF in Asia to allow investing directly in crypto assets. The

ETF will invest in Bitcoin futures as well as crypto-assets-related companies such as SilverGate Capital, Galaxy Digital Holdings, Coinbase and Bitcoin futures contracts and will be similar to Amplify’s BLOCK ETF. The BLOCK ETF also includes other ETFs that directly track the Bitcoin price, such as Canada’s Purpose Bitcoin ETF.
