British luxury automaker McLaren Automotive announced last March that it has partnered with InfiniteWorld, a metaverse platform. The company had announced that it would launch NFT collections of luxury cars. McLaren is adding a new one to its projects related to the metaverse universe.
McLaren Automotive’s New Metaverse Move
UK-based automaker McLaren Automotive has announced that it has created its own digital platforms. McLaren is launching its new digital community, the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) Lab, as the next step in its metaverse strategy.
MSO, a workshop of designers and engineers, is being expanded by engineers into the Web3 world.
McLaren’s design team has also announced that a limited number of NFTs, scheduled for release in the near future, will be available. McLaren stated that it will use the MSO LAB to build NFTs.
McLaren Automotive Marketing Director Gareth Dunsmore said:
“ We’ve established a new way to interact with customers and fans in the Web3 universe. McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is the in-house division of McLaren Automotive, so MSO LAB will be our home where we push the boundaries of possibility and design regardless of physical constraints.”
McLaren stated that it will prioritize its customers among those who want to join the MSO LAB community. This will give them exclusive access to a wide range of services and benefits. They will also be given access to never-before-seen digital drawings created by the company’s design team.
