Making giant plans to enter the computer market, Qualcomm bought Nuvia, which was founded by Apple engineers, in early 2021. But it looks like the company’s computer processor won’t be announced until next year.
Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon made statements about Qualcomm’s computer processor. Presenting the first quarter earnings report of 2022, Qualcomm executives stated that the Nuvia processor, whose production has been completed, will reach store shelves in late 2023.
What are the Qualcomm computer processor specifications?
Following the announcement of first quarter 2022 earnings, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon was asked about the laptop market and Qualcomm’s work plans in this area. Saying that they have been working with Microsoft for many years, the Qualcomm executive stated that with the release of Windows 11, the first Arm-based 64-bit solution is ready for commercial and especially corporate customers.
Entering the laptop world with the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, which powers Lenovo’s ThinkPad model, Qualcomm trusts Nuvia, which it has purchased before, for the processor. It is unclear which customers (commercial, corporate or individual) will be offered the new Arm-based processor, which will be released in late 2023.

Nuvia’s roadmap was laid out at a previous meeting held by Qualcomm. According to the statement made by Qualcomm’s Chief Technology Officer James Thompson, the Nuvia processor will be announced in August 2022 and will be available in 2023.
Qualcomm’s PC-side plans are running slower than expected, but the first quarter earnings report looks satisfactory. Qualcomm revenues increased by 41 percent compared to a year ago to reach 11.16 billion dollars. The company’s net income grew 67 percent to $2.9 billion.
Stating that it produces chipsets for 75 percent of Samsung Galaxy S22 devices, Qualcomm stated that its sales for smartphones increased by 56 percent. For those who do not know, the processors in the Samsung Galaxy series are divided into two. Samsung ships its own Exynos processor to some regions and Snapdragon to others.
