Commerzbank, one of Germany’s leading banks, has applied for a crypto license.
A spokesperson for German bank Commerzbank revealed that the company applied for a crypto license earlier this year. If it happens, it will be the first major bank in the country to adopt cryptoassets. In his statement on the subject, Commerzbank Senior Spokesperson Bernd Reh used the following statements:
“For this purpose, we entered into a cooperation with Deutsche Börse and Fin-Tech 330x in the spring of 2021. We also follow our own digital asset strategy and plan our own offerings for our clients in the coming years. We have applied for a license from Bafin to protect crypto assets.”
