Coinbase has launched the beta version of the highly anticipated NFT marketplace.
Coinbase’s NFT marketplace is finally launched. Due to the beta version, only people on the waiting list will be able to use the platform.
Coinbase plans to gradually increase the number of users. According to the stock market’s statement, NFT transactions can be made free of charge, as it is a beta version.
Users can link any self-custody wallet to the platform to choose the NFTs they want to showcase on their profile. The platform’s interface is similar to Meta’s Instagram, which will be integrating NFTs in the coming months.
Coinbase sees its marketplace as more than just a trading platform. Instead, the exchange aims to create a social platform for artists and collectors.
To provide this environment, Coinbase has created an interface that allows users to follow other profiles and initiate conversations by commenting directly on NFTs.
Although the Coinbase NFT marketplace currently only offers NFT collections built on the Ethereum blockchain, users will be able to purchase NFTs from other blockchains in the future, according to the exchange’s statement.
