We all use Gmail, Google’s e-mail service, now. One of the most annoying features of Gmail is that it sends a notification to our phones for every incoming email, important or not. Google is getting rid of this feature with its new update, at least for a certain period of time.
With the update that Google brought to the Gmail application on iOS, it is compatible with the focus mode on iOS. Thanks to this focus mode, you will no longer receive annoying Gmail notifications on your iOS devices.
It’s now possible to not receive unnecessary Gmail notifications outside of working hours on your iPhone
Actually this feature has been available on Android and iOS for years, you can access Gmail whenever you want. You could turn off notifications. However, thanks to the innovation that Google brought to iOS, you will now be able to adjust Gmail notifications according to your working hours and not receive notifications outside those hours.
Gmail can now work with focus mode profiles automatically created by Apple or customized by the user to get exactly the notifications you want. Thus, you will be able to say goodbye to notifications that come out of business hours and make you uneasy, but of course, critical mails will continue to come with your choice.
Google states in its update notes that “You can now specify the Google Chat and Gmail contacts you want to receive notifications from when your iOS device is in focus mode. This will come in handy when you need to limit screen time but don’t want to miss an important message when other notifications are muted.” What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
