Hologram technology, which is one of the technologies mentioned in almost every production in the future, has gradually started to become a reality. Finally, the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) managed to communicate between the International Space Station and Earth with the technology we know as holograms.
Although this achievement actually took place in October last year, NASA has just shared the announcement, background and purpose of this achievement. NASA, thanks to the technology developed, NASA flight doctor Dr. Josef Schmid managed to ‘holoport’ AEXA Aerospace CEO Fernando De La Pena Llaca and his crew to the ISS.
They had both video and audio conversations live:
This technology, which NASA added as a new word to our dictionary, reflected people into the void, just like we see in movies. Communication and communication took place using a standard computer with Microsoft’s Hololens Kinect camera and special software developed by Aexa. Throughout this communication, European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet and scientists made live video and audio communication.
NASA shared that they will use technology in private medical, psychiatry/family meetings and to host ‘VIPs’ on the space station. In the future, it was shared that the augmented reality function will be added to the technology, so that the guests of the ISS from the virtual environment will be able to walk around the ISS in real time. In other words, it is quite possible for us to see technology being included in daily life and holograms walking on the street..
