Recently, NASA said that it is preparing to take its tourism projects for the International Space Station one step further. Previously, commercial organizations could only use the ISS for research purposes. But now they will be allowed to profit in low Earth orbit (LEO).

Prices for the International Space Station starting from 11 thousand 250 dollars per night!

NASA has released a price list for the International Space Station. That said, it dedicates five percent of the station’s annual resources (including astronaut time and cargo mass) to commercial use. The cheapest cargo option was quoted as 3 thousand dollars per kilogram.

Of course, it’s not just about sending something into space. Then, a payment of 3 thousand dollars / kg will be made to throw this object in the trash. But if you want it to be brought back to the planet, you will have to pay an additional $6,000.

In addition, NASA has set a pricing for space tourists. It is stated that many criteria such as regenerative life support and toilet access affect the prices for these special astronaut missions to the ISS.

Because NASA has determined the daily wage for the International Space Station as 11 thousand 250 dollars. But if you don’t have other services and tools such as food, air, crew supplies, consumables, medical kit and exercise equipment, you can buy them too. However, let’s say that the daily wage increased to 22 thousand 500 dollars.

NASA says it will offer the forward docking port on the Harmony module in the ISS to the private sector. In 2017, we saw that it allowed a special airlock to be added to a different module, Tranquility. But this space will probably only be used for cargo.

However, according to the first plan announced, he will be held from this special post only 2 times per year. In other words, civilian astronauts who want to go and companies that want to send their cargo are expected to enter into a tight competition in this regard.
