Crypto research firm Messari said that Avalanche (AVAX) comes right behind Ethereum in terms of daily transactions.
Messari stated that an average of about 1.17 million transactions per day were processed on Ethereum in the first quarter of 2022.
According to the firm, Avalanche caught 74% of the Ethereum average in the first quarter and it seems likely to repeat this in the second quarter.

Messari also predicts that Avalanche’s transaction fees will drop in the second quarter after a major update called Apricot is doing.
“Apricot update aims to facilitate verifiable pruning, a process by which nodes can securely compress past transactions
With new versions of Apricot, average transaction fees continue to stabilize and tend to decline.
Avalanche is trading at $77 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap data.
