Apple’s annual event, which is eagerly awaited by developers and technology enthusiasts, WWDC will be held online this year as well. The event, which has been online for the last 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will continue this year as well. WWDC, which introduced serious innovations regarding the Apple ecosystem, will take place on June 6 this year. Famous Apple analyst Mark Gurman stated what we can expect from WWDC.
New Macs may be introduced
Mark Gurman and other Apple sources have long indicated that new Macs will arrive in 2022. Some of these devices, primarily the MacBook Air, are expected to be introduced at the beginning of the second half of 2022. Apple hasn’t introduced any major devices at WWDC for 2 years, but that may change this year. The new MacBook Air, which is expected to carry the design traces of the 24-inch iMac and come with white frames, may be introduced in June. Apple has stated that the M1 family has been completed in the past months, so we are likely to see M2 chips this year, but it is currently unknown which chip the MacBook Air will come with.
The new MacBook Air will come with ports other than USB-C, MagSafe charging support and a renewed FaceTime camera. It is not known what other device can be introduced at the event, but Gurman has listed the devices he expects to be introduced this year. According to Gurman, Apple will update the Mac mini, 24-inch iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro later this year. Let’s see which devices will be updated at WWDC.
What will iOS 16 and watchOS 9 offer?
The indispensable event of WWDC every year is the update of iOS, watchOS, iPadOS and macOS. The company, which will introduce iOS 16 this year, will bring serious innovations. Mark Gurman stated that iOS 16, which will be introduced at WWDC, will not have a serious change in design, but serious innovations will come to notifications. In addition, iOS 16 will offer new health tracking options. On the iPadOS side, Gurman states that the multitasking window can be renewed.
watchOS 9 will offer serious innovations for health and activity tracking on Apple Watches. Fertility planning and tracking, which Apple plans to bring with the Watch Series 8, can be introduced with watchOS 9. On the macOS side of Apple, there is no information, including the version name. The WWDC, which Apple will organize in the coming months, will again provide great news for the Apple ecosystem.
