The social media phenomenon and singer Yusuf Aktaş with millions of followers, or Reynmen, as he is known, has ended the lawsuit process that has been going on for two years. The phenomenon, which has 6.27 million subscribers on YouTube, responded to these two names on Instagram, two years ago, who criticized him in the television show hosted by Ece Erken and Bircan Bali. Bircan Bali, on the other hand, applied to the court, saying that the post contained threats and insults.
While Bircan Bali and her lawyer frequently stated that Reynmen should be punished, Reynmen said that there was no insult or threat in her words and that she would not be punished for this reason.
Reynmen told Bircan Bali:
“Your scribbles are endless. What are your qualifications other than talking about people’s private lives? Share this with me, I’m curious about it.” I hope you will return these stories to me tomorrow in the program. I hope that then you will start talking about people’s lives. I will do whatever I can, legally.”
In response to this post, Bircan Bali, who took the case to the legal process, said that Yusuf Aktaş (Reynmen) ‘insulted’ and ‘threatened’ him. Then he sued. The two-year trial of Yusuf Aktaş, who was on trial with a demand for imprisonment from 9.5 months to 4 years and 4 months, was concluded today. The court acquitted Yusuf Aktaş (Reynmen).
The lawyers of both parties took part in the case before the Istanbul 48 Criminal Court of First Instance. While Bircan Bali’s lawyer said, “We demand the punishment of the accused,” Yusuf Aktaş’s lawyer said, “Neither threats or insults have occurred. The client has stated that he will exercise his legal rights. For this reason, the crime of ‘threat’ did not occur. The other words he said were the words spoken in response to the statements of the complainants.
The court acquitted Reynmen
The court, which made its decision after hearing both sides, took Yusuf Aktaş’s action against the negative criticisms about him on the complainant’s television show. He ruled that there is no reason to be punished for what he did as a reaction. In addition, it was stated in the aforementioned post that the defendant’s statement that “he would do his best legally” was not a threat.
