Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced that a three-part animated movie will be made that will feature the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
“The Degen Trilogy,” the first in a series of animated shorts, is out June at NFT.NYC will premiere, and Ape owners and the Ape community will have a say in some parts of the animation.
Bored Ape owners can contribute to the short film by submitting fabricated characters that will be judged by a real Hollywood director.
The most surprising feature of the movie is that the company behind it is Coinbase. Coinbase is testing the new media arm for the production of movies directed by William Swann, entertainment and culture marketing director brought in from the traditional entertainment world. Swann said:
“You can think of it as a love letter to NFT technology, which provides so much creativity for artists. We really look at Bored Ape as a kind of North Star in the NFT space. They have created a very engaging community”
