Bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer Canaan has announced the launch of a new machine in the A12 series as it prepares to expand self-mining.
Senior vice president Edward Lu announced at the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami that the China-based company’s new Avalon 1266 can reach 100 terahash per second (TH/s) with an efficiency of 35 joules per terahash (J/T). told. It is not clear when the shipment of the new devices will begin. “We will adjust the production and delivery schedule of the machine based on demand orders from the main customers,” Lu told The Block.
Lu, in most parts of his 15-minute speech, highlighted the need to improve sustainability both by increasing the efficiency of mining technologies and by switching to renewable energy sources. “For the past two years, Avalon has been committed to building a greener bitcoin mining industry, starting with our products,” said Lu.
The manager also said that Canaan is committed to partnering with miners focused on achieving their green energy goals.
