Apple seems to accelerate its research on artificial intelligence in the coming period. Apple, which made an important transfer in artificial intelligence, also threw an important steal at Google.
Apple recruited Samy Bengio, who has been working in Google’s artificial intelligence research department for many years, to its artificial intelligence research unit, thus making the second transfer from Google for this unit after John Giannandrea. John Giannandrea joined Apple in 2018 after spending nearly 8 years at Google.
So why is Samy Bengio’s transfer so important? Bengio worked at Google for 14 years and made a significant contribution to the company in artificial intelligence. Bengio, who left Google as of last month, answers the questions asked to him as “I want to take advantage of exciting opportunities”, and apparently thinks that he can find the excitement he is looking for in Apple.
Samy Bengio will be working with John Giannandrea at Apple in the upcoming period. John Giannandrea is currently senior vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence strategy at Apple. It is not known on which subject Giannandrea, who has been working on the iPhone since 2018, will now work with Bengio. Apple, which has not yet made a statement about Samy Bengio’s role in the institution, is expected to hold a meeting on this subject in the coming days.
