Space has always been unknown to humanity. As technology develops, we see that this obscurity is much greater. More distant planets, stars and galaxies are being discovered every day. Finally, a galaxy believed to have formed just after the dark ages has been discovered. The true nature of this cosmic object, which is quite far from Earth, remains a mystery.
A galaxy 13.5 billion light-years away
Two new studies, published April 7, reveal that an astronomical object could be as much as 13.5 billion light-years away. The galaxy, named HD1, may surpass GN-z11 to become the farthest cosmic object from Earth. The distance of GN-z11 from Earth is considered to be 13.39 billion light years.
HD1, NASA’s Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii It was discovered with the help of a number of space and ground-based telescopes, including the Spitzer and Japan’s Subaru telescope. Yuichi Wonderne, an astronomer and principal investigator at the University of Tokyo, said his team searched through more than 700,000 objects to find HD1.
Researchers have two theories about the new cosmic object. First of all, it is focused on HD1 as a galaxy formed as a result of super powerful star explosion. HD1, which produces stars 10 times faster than a traditional starburst, draws attention with this feature.
Alternatively, there is the possibility that this cosmic object is a supermassive black hole. However, the nature of HD1 is not yet fully determined. Researchers believe that this question can be answered with the help of NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, which will be launched soon.
