Crystal Dynamics is among the busiest game developers of recent times. It is known that the company is currently working on three different games, a Tomb Raider game developed with Unreal Engine 5, a new Perfect Dark game developed for Xbox, and finally Marvel’s Avengers.

As such, it seems unlikely that Marvel’s Avengers game, which was a priority for the company in previous years, will maintain this priority. In other words, this year does not seem to be very bright for the Avengers.

2023 may be the end for Marvel’s Avengers

It was previously stated that Crystal Dynamics will have a 2022 content roadmap for Avengers by the end of the year; but even though it has been four months since we entered the new year, this still has not happened. This means that at some point, some of the company’s plans may have changed.

From a content perspective, it seems that we’re seeing much less content overall in the first four months of 2022 compared to 2021. The most common internal reports suggest that the next new heroes will be Jane Foster as female Thor and She-Hulk, which has been delayed to better suit the launch of the She-Hulk MCU show.

On the other hand, it cannot be said that this was a ‘blow’ for Crystal Dynamics. On the contrary, it can be said that this is a pretty good time for the company to start dedicating its resources to the new Perfect Dark project and the newly announced Tomb Raider game. However, it may be possible for Marvel’s Avengers to receive updates a few more times this year; however, 2023 seems to be the end of the game. Of course, we will all wait and see what the actual plans of the company will be.
