Production was shifted to TSMC while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ was pulled back. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset has also started its warm-up laps.

What will the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 offer?

Dimensity 8100 chipset’s head-to-head fight with Snapdragon 888 caused Qualcomm to speed up the preparations. The final stage has been reached for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.

The chipset, which will include 4 Cortex-A710 and 4 Cortex-A510 cores, does not have Cortex-X2 cores. Together with the Adreno 662 graphics unit, it reaches a satisfactory performance.

Its rival Dimensity 8100 chipset has Cortex-A78 and Cortex-55 cores. With architectural innovations, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 seems to be a bit ahead, but the capabilities of optimizations will determine the winner at this point.
