Microsoft restructured the Android team

The recent integration of Microsoft, the giant of the desktop world, and Android, the giant of the mobile world, does not go unnoticed. Microsoft, which wanted to create a macOS and iOS style operation, also restructured the responsible departments.

Android change within Microsoft

The change announced by product chief Panos Panay aims to provide better service by gathering different sources. Thus, it is planned to achieve improvements in competitiveness.

Microsoft’s Android services Developing Surface Duo OS, Swift Key, Phone Link and Microsoft Launcher teams will now be gathered under the umbrella of Android Microsoft Platform and Experiences – AMPX.

AMPX division will be managed by Surface vice president Ali Akgün. In the coming period, critical updates, including running Android applications within Windows, will be under the responsibility of Ali Akgün.
