Boston Dynamics introduced its Stretch robot last year to meet the needs of warehouses and distribution centers. The company recently announced that it has put up for sale the mobile robot, which it has been piloting tests for.

Pre-orders are full for 2022

Stretch, which consists of 5 basic parts: mobile base, battery, robotic arm, smart gripper and perception pole, has the ability to move 800 boxes per hour. While the mobile robot can work up to 16 hours on a single charge, it can carry boxes up to 23 kg.

Boston Dynamics announced that it will begin commercial rollout of the robot, which can be deployed and operationalized within the existing warehouse infrastructure in just a few days. The company states that there is a great interest in the robot and it already owns all Stretches to be produced for this year. Pre-orders for 2023 and 2024 have started.
