AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım, after visiting İzmir Güzelbahçe fisherman’s shelter, met with young people in the meeting room of a hotel and answered their questions. Yıldırım was asked about the metaverse universe.
“Metaverse Means a Second Universe for Me”
Answering the questions about the metaverse, Binali Yıldırım underlined that this technology is new for everyone and said: He said he was doing research. Yıldırım said the following about the metaverse;
“I read the descriptions of the experts. I took something from all of them and developed a definition for myself. For me, the metaverse means a second universe. We’re talking about an environment where we can develop the same things that exist in the universe.”
Yıldırım continued his words as follows:
“There is instant communication. This issue of crypto assets should not be limited to the financial sector. It is something that we can use in every field that people need. It is a system that can do the job of all banks with a hundred people. This is open source software. Rather than rejecting this technology, there is a need to create legislation to prevent its use for harmful purposes. Unregistered money, drugs or money earned from virtual gambling are tried to be inserted into the system. There are reserves. These were seen in the Ukraine-Russia crisis and they started using it as a weapon.”
