Clubhouse, which was exposed to the intense interest of people with the full shutdown of all countries at the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, still continues to be used by a considerable audience, even though its former popularity is no longer.

In the first month of the Russia-Ukraine war, Facebook, the social media platform affiliated with Meta, activated the “Profile Locking” feature in the country to ensure the online security of users living in Ukraine. While all companies are working hard to help those affected by the war, a move came from Clubhouse.

Clubhouse launched Protected Profile

In the Clubhouse blog post, referring to the war in Ukraine, “We are grateful that during this time we have become a meeting place where people around the world can connect. But we know that in times of war and turmoil, you need to pay more attention to what you share and your online presence.”

Clubhouse has officially launched the Protected Profile era.

Thanks to the Protected Profile feature developed in this context, when someone tries to follow you, your approval will be required. Only your followers will be able to see rooms, clubs, and chat replays on your profile. In addition, Clubhouse will not recommend your account to people you do not know when you activate the Protected Profile feature.

To activate the Protected Profile feature:

  • Open the Clubhouse application and enter your profile.
  • Tap the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
  • Activate the Protected Profile feature under the Languages section.

When you want to remove the protection, simply disable the Protected Profile option. The restrictions imposed on your profile by Clubhouse will be removed, your consent will not be required when someone tries to follow you, and your account will continue to be recommended to people you don’t know as it used to be.
