Important information continues to come for Nvidia’s flagship RTX 4080, 4080 Ti, 4090 or 4090 Ti graphics cards. According to the latest leaked images, Nvidia has sent reference drawings for the RTX 4000 series to its manufacturer partners.

In the light of information from industry sources, it has been revealed that Nvidia plans to increase electricity consumption in new generation graphics cards. According to reference cards, the new generation RTX 4000 series is designed to consume 600W of power. In other words, the increase in electricity demand may result in the fact that even those who want to buy an RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 change the power supply.

Nvidia RTX 4090 specs: 600W, 24GB GDDR6X

Several previous leaks had claimed that the RTX 4080 or 4090 would need a minimum of 600W TBP (total card power). Higher-end RTX 4090 Ti or special edition RTX 4000 series GPUs can consume over 800W.

Recent reports spotted by Igor’s Lab have revealed the reference board that Nvidia sends to display manufacturers for its next-generation GPUs. It was also claimed that Nvidia wanted OEM companies to test PCB (circuit board) and heatsinks at 600W power.

Of course, it should be noted that not every RTX 4080 or 4090 will need 600W or higher out of the box. However, it may be possible to need this minimum power in benchmark tests or during overclocking.

The reference board from a Chinese GPU company provided further details about the RTX 4000 series. One of the standout technical features was the twelve slots for memory modules. This reveals that the RTX 4080 and 4090 will have either 12GB or 24GB of GDDR6X memory.

Interestingly, according to source Igor’s Lab, all OEM manufacturers will include a 12VHPWR adapter for PCIe 8-pin in the box to take advantage of the vast majority of power supplies on the market.
