It’s been 2 years since Sony released the PlayStation 5 game console, and of course rumors have started for the Pro and Slim versions, which will be the next “intermediate” game console. While leaks have recently emerged that the PlayStation 5 Slim will be released, on the other hand, the claims that the next console will be PlayStation 5 Pro are getting stronger.
According to the information shared on a YouTube channel called RedGamingTech, Sony is currently developing the PlayStation 5 Pro. Claiming that there will be important basic system updates and improvements on PS5 Pro, the founder of the channel, Paul Eccleston, also shares the information that PlayStation 5 Pro will be introduced in late 2023 or just at the beginning of 2024.
The date 2023 seems plausible when we consider that Sony previously left a 3-year gap between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. However, we’ll have to wait and see.
On the other hand, Eccleston points out that the PlayStation 5 Pro will show 2 times the performance of the original PlayStation 5 and will be 2.5 times stronger in ray tracing. However, the PlayStation VR 2 might be a better wingman with a virtual reality headset.
By the way, the release date of PlayStation VR 2 is not yet clear. Sony will likely leave some space between the 2 devices.
