Metaverse enters the field of education!
As we have reported as Kriptokoin.com, Facebook will launch itself as Meta Platforms Inc. in October 2021 to go beyond its social media roots and signal a broader agenda around the “next chapter of the internet”. (now commonly referred to as Meta), the term officially entered the mainstream. Many plans for use cases have emerged in the Metaverse. Mahmut Özer mentioned the metaverse in a statement he made about the latest studies in education. Özer said that the infrastructure in schools has started to be prepared for the transition to the metaverse, which he calls the technology of the future. The Minister of National Education pointed out that work has started on vocational training, especially in virtual reality, and said, “Vocational training in the world has moved to augmented virtual reality, especially in risky areas in terms of occupational health and safety.” Stating that this use case will be adapted to vocational training, Özer said that they have started to implement it in the field of “welding and mining”.
Infrastructure will be created
Minister Özer said that the studies and infrastructure preparations continue for the inclusion of the metaverse in education, and also talked about education related to mathematics and said, “We are trying to change the teaching approach in mathematics. In other words, the difference in method is more related to life. Let it be taught as a concrete field, not as an abstract field. We are designing a mathematical approach that is very concrete in the first stages of education, then becomes more and more abstract but never disconnected from life.” He stated that new approaches will be made for this.
Also, regarding augmented reality, he said, “We have intensified the work on establishing and developing the infrastructure related to augmented virtual reality, creating content with digital.”
