READING NOW Twitter brings two highly anticipated features!

Twitter started testing the Communities feature for the Web version last year, which helps us only appeal to a certain audience. Communities allow us to choose the group we want to specifically address. The social media giant is now trying to improve the user experience by improving this feature.

Twitter’s Communities feature, which is still in testing, is similar to Facebook Groups. The existence of similar functions among social media platforms intensifies the existing competition between them. So what are the updates for Communities? Let’s take a look at the details of the news together.

Twitter tests the search bar for Communities

Twitter is trying to optimize the Communities feature before it’s fully rolled out. One of these works was to add a search bar to the feature. Thanks to the search bar, it will be possible to join groups of interest and tweet only about that topic. However, joining groups will only be by invitation or request-approval from members. Additionally, each member will be able to send invitations to join only five people.

The Communities feature, which was the first to stand out, was much discussed. Because, some users argued that classical sharing of ideas will reach more people than sharing ideas with only one group. Twitter Vice President Jay Sullivan said:

“One of the things I hear from people is, ‘Hey, I’ve been reading a lot. I’m not comfortable tweeting or don’t know when or why I should tweet. I would feel better if I was tweeting to a smaller community of people.”

Twitter Facets feature

In addition, the social media platform is preparing to launch a project called Twitter Facets. The Twitter Facets project will allow people to tweet under different usernames. It will also allow followers to choose which user account to follow. In this way, not every follower of the users will see every tweet.
