Porsche, one of the first giant automobile manufacturers to enter the electric car industry, has managed to attract admiration all over the world, especially with its Taycan model. But the company has shown again today that it will take its electric technology even further. Porsche has announced that it will make its beloved model fully electric

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has announced that Porsche’s new electric car will be the 718 (Boxster and Cayman), after a Taycan and next year’s model Macan. Blume has announced that the new 718 will be a true sports car and will debut towards the middle of this decade. Although Blume has not announced the exact date, the vehicle is expected to be released in 2025.

The vehicle will be a first for Porsche:

Only one detail has been shared about the 718, which will be Porsche’s all-electric new model. The model, which will ensure the end of the internal combustion engine era in the already popular 718 models, will be built on the company’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) automobile platform. Developed jointly by Audi and Porsche, PPE will thus be featured in a Porsche for the first time.

On the other hand, Porsche announced in another news it gave that it would set up its own network of charging stations by abandoning the only cooperation strategy that it has pursued for charging stations. It has been announced that the charging stations will be built primarily in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
