Samsung announced in the past weeks that they will use security hardware in their new smartphones with Knox Vault. With Knox Vault, important information on smartphones, pin, fingerprint and face scan data will be stored in the Vault processor. In this way, they will improve security. Samsung Promises 5 Years of Security Updates for Some Enterprise Edition Galaxy Phones
Announcing earlier this year that it will provide 4-year security updates for its Galaxy smartphones, Samsung made another announcement regarding security updates for some of its corporate Galaxy smartphone series.
Samsung will offer 5 years of security updates for some enterprise edition Galaxy smartphones. These enterprise edition devices will be geared towards businesses that offer business-ready technology, services, extended device protection and security with Knox Suite. The 5-year security update will be available for the following enterprise devices:
- Galaxy S21 5G
- Galaxy S21+ 5G
- Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
- Galaxy XCovers5
- Galaxy S20
- Galaxy S20+
- Galaxy S20 Ultra
- Galaxy Notre 20
- Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
- Galaxy Tab Active 3
Samsung is expected to offer 5-year security updates to some of its Galaxy smartphones in the future.
