Facebook, which is among the most popular applications of today, has been going head-to-head with Russia, which has waged war on Ukraine for a while. Of course, the company announced that it has stopped all its activities in the country. However, a lot of fake news spread especially through groups still continues to be on the agenda. For this reason, the platform announced that it will launch a new service for groups.
Facebook will make the work of managers in groups easier
Facebook groups, which are used by almost everyone today, have become appealing to many people, from sharing recipes to sports pages. But among these, there are groups focused on health, politics and the military.
However, whatever the type, the rate of deliberate or unintentional sharing of false information in such groups is quite high. Therefore, the company wants to prevent these shares thanks to a new audit tool that it has been working on for a while.
With this new feature, group administrators will now have the chance to automatically reject false information detected by the system or 3rd party supervisors. In fact, Facebook states that it has collaborated with more than 80 organizations such as PolitiFact, Reuters and The Associated Press on the subject.
In fact, a similar feature was available during the pandemic period. But a study by MIT showed that there are people who continue to believe even if the posts are labeled as containing false information. Therefore, this new feature for Facebook groups will also be a solution to this problem, as it will automatically remove the post.
