Samsung announced yesterday that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has set a new Guinness World Record. With the new record, the company became the new champion of a rather extraordinary category that can be defined as “Many people opening boxes at the same time”.
This category has been around for at least a few years. And apparently, since 2019, Xiaomi held the previous record with 703 people unboxing their products at the same time.
Samsung India set a new record last week with its #EpicUnboxing event on March 5th. It recorded 1820 simultaneous unboxings across 17 cities, nearly tripling Xiaomi’s record.
#EpicUnboxing event took place when a selected group of Galaxy S22 Ultra pre-booking customers received early delivery. 1820 people attended the event. Simultaneous unboxing took place at 19 locations in 17 cities across the country.
To celebrate the event, Samsung gave these customers limited edition bundles that included the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2, as well as the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
