Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary says he is working closely with US lawmakers on cryptocurrency-friendly regulations. The businessman said he met with a bipartisan group of lawmakers hosted by Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming, who is an outspoken advocate of cryptocurrencies, to discuss crypto law.
The content of the discussed regulation has not been disclosed yet.
Last month, Senator Lummis invited the Federal Reserve to add Bitcoin to its balance sheet and said that the decentralized nature of BTC would make it ubiquitous. Lummis has previously said that American citizens are incorporating the leading digital asset into their retirement savings strategies and see BTC as a powerful store of value rather than a medium of exchange.
Once opposed to digital assets, O’Leary changed his stance on cryptocurrencies last year and started adding them to his portfolio. Now, the famous investor acknowledges the “extraordinary” growth rate of crypto assets.
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, all these blockchains—it’s all software. The growth rate of these new innovations is phenomenal, and there’s capital coming in from all around the world.
