Google promises to bring many innovations to big screen devices with Android 12L. It turned out that Samsung, Lenovo and Microsoft have rolled up their sleeves for this operating system, which we expect to see especially in tablets and folding smartphones.

Android 12L is coming to tablets and folding phones!

Google made a comprehensive introduction for Android 12L in the last quarter of last year. It is even stated that this operating system is the first software to focus on big screen devices since Android 3.0 Honeycomb version in 2011.

Now, Google’s Vice President of Android Andrei Popescu, in a blog post he shared, will launch Android 12L on tablets and folding smartphones that Samsung, Lenovo and Microsoft will introduce this year. He said they were the first companies to commit to include the release.

Since Lenovo is currently running the Android 12L beta version with the P12 Pro tablet, it would not be surprising to see support for this device. But it was really a matter of curiosity which devices Microsoft and Samsung would use in this area. Because if the Surface Duo 2 and Galaxy Fold models also offer support, we will be able to experience it outside of the tablet for the first time.

Of course, the devices we will encounter will eventually run Android 12. But Google wants to achieve with this new operating system what Apple did in iOS and iPadOS operating systems. Because it is possible to use large screen devices as much more than a phone. Especially considering that they have reached levels that can rival even laptop computers today.
