Google is testing a new dark mode option in its Android app. The app currently offers a dark mode option, but the tested theme has darker tones. While this feature looks similar to the new dark theme that Google tested on desktop in late February, it’s not quite the same.

Having a dark gray dark theme in the Android application, Google is testing a theme in darker tones. Last month, it was seen that the tech giant was testing an all-black theme on the desktop. The new dark mode tested on mobile is darker than the current theme, but has a lighter tone than the tested theme on desktop.

The dark theme with darker tones tested by Google in the Android application can be used with version 13.8 on the beta channel of the application. The technology giant may offer users different dark themes to choose from instead of a single dark theme in the future.
