South Korea invested $185 million to build the country’s metaverse ecosystem.
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and Information & Communications Technology (ICT) released a statement on Sunday. In the statement, it announced that it has invested KRW 223.7 billion, equivalent to approximately $185 million, to build the country’s metaverse ecosystem. On the other hand, a government council is working to evaluate issues in the virtual space, such as the protection of personal information and intellectual property, and the control of illegal activities.
In January, the Ministry prepared a five-year strategy to become one of the country’s top five metaverse leaders.
