Google Chrome has been on the top of many platforms for years. Especially on the Android side, there is a great success. Because most Android phones come with Chrome installed and users continue from Chrome instead of installing another browser. The Chrome Android application, which billions of people use every day, bids farewell to an important feature.
Chrome removed the data saving feature in its Android application
With the introduction of 4G technology, data saving became one of the most needed features. When we switched from 3G to 4G, we couldn’t get enough of our speed and started to consume more data, and in fact, the data saving feature helped us bring the end of the month. However, by 2022, data savings caused websites not to be displayed correctly, as websites were working with different JavaScript files.

A decision has now been made, in line with long-standing complaints. The data saver option in Chrome’s Android app will not be available in new versions. On other platforms, the feature is still in place. However, we may witness that data saving has been removed from other platforms in the near future.
We haven’t seen much benefit from the data saving feature lately anyway. It was annoying that when you use 150GB of data, it only saves 2GB of data at ridiculous levels. Moreover, while saving 2GB, it was causing us problems with some websites. Therefore, I can say that we will not remember the data saving feature of Chrome very well.

A big milestone will be overturned with Chrome 100, which is expected to arrive at the end of March. It is a sweet coincidence that the Firefox 100 version will be coming soon. We expect great innovations from both browsers specifically for this new version.
