Facebook shared another sanction they will impose on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The company shared that Russian state media are restricting their ability to advertise and monetize the social media platform.

Facebook Security Policy President Nathaniel Gleicher’s sanction to be implemented with his post on Twitter: “We now prohibit Russian state media from advertising or monetizing our platform anywhere in the world ” announced in his words.

This decision by Facebook came after the Russian regulator Roskomnadzor announced that they were restricting access to the platform. The platform also shared that they will continue to apply information control and content warning labels to Russian state media.
