9to5Google reports that users are starting to see Google’s new “pitch dark mode.” The previous dark mode was an eye-pleasing gray, but Google has switched to true black (#000000), which can be predicted to really show up on OLED and AMOLED displays.

The new theme doesn’t appear to be available for everyone yet, but it appears to be rolling out gradually. If you want to switch to the new dark theme (of course it is available for you) you can change your settings as follows:

  • 1. Select the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the quick settings.
  • 2.Choose dark mode.
