It’s no secret that Intel is desperately trying to outdo the Apple M-series processors after Apple said goodbye to Intel processors in Mac models and switched to ARM architecture. Intel currently has very powerful processors on the market, but none of them can match Apple’s processors in terms of efficiency. According to the roadmap leaked by AdoredTV (via Wccftech), Intel’s main focus will be on Apple in the 15th generation processors, known as “Arrow Lake”.
Intel will present its Apple M1 competitor processors in 2023
It is stated that it will give priority to mobile solutions over desktop in the new processor series, Intel plans to use TSMC’s 3 nm fabrication process. While there are currently three different versions of Apple M1 processors, the new processor developed by Intel as a competitor is planned to be released in late 2023. Of course, in this process, the Apple M2 processor will have already been released.
According to the leaked roadmap, the first engineering samples will be ready in late 2022 and early 2023.
Intel is too late for this move!
Of course, Intel may surpass the Apple M1 processors, but it’s too late. As we mentioned above, until Intel launches the processors it has developed, third-generation processors that are much more performance and efficient than the M1 processors currently in use by Apple will be released.
Apple’s possibility of returning to Intel processors is gone. In this context, Intel’s goal is to power the laptop, which is much less hot, but offers high performance, similar to laptops with M1.
Intel recently claimed that its new Core i9 processor is faster than the Apple M1 Max, but at full performance it consumes almost twice the power of the M1 Max. Energy efficiency is very important for laptop computers.
