We had our first remote contact with iOS 15 at last year’s WWDC event. After that, the beta process started and we saw that it was fully released in September. Of course, the development process did not stop after that, there are still updates on iOS 15. These updates, which we describe as intermediate versions, are also being tested in the beta phase. Apple has recently released the 4th phase of the iOS 15.4 beta.
What came with iOS 15.4 Beta 4?
Apple releases two kinds of beta before releasing an iOS update. One is the developer beta and the other is the open beta. The update we’re talking about right now is a developer beta. It can only be downloaded from the interface logged in with the Apple Developer Account. Such a process exists so that app and game developers can make their software fully compatible with new iOS versions.
On the other hand, developer betas don’t usually get much new. We often hear that there are bug fixes. This means that the improvements made are focused only on fixing existing bugs. Probably the only innovation that comes with this update is the display of a warning to AirTags users. It has been mentioned that if you try to follow someone using AirTags, you can find out which Apple account the AirTags belong to, if the person goes to court.
If you have an Apple Developer Account, simply log in to your account on this page and follow the instructions.
iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS updated
In addition to the update released for iOS, an update was also released for other operating systems with the same version number. It is possible to download watchOS 8.5 Beta 4 as well as iPadOS and tvOS 15.4 Beta 4 versions.
If you’re an app developer, you don’t need to download updates so early. Since these updates are not stable, it is possible that they will give you bad moments in daily use. So waiting for stable releases seems like the best option.
