Sony is preparing to introduce its new flagship Xperia 5 IV (Xperia 5 Mark 4) smartphone. The technology giant last launched the photography-focused Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III devices in April last year. In October, the first information came from Sony’s new model, which released the Xperia Pro-I, which draws attention with its 1-inch camera sensor.
Sony Xperia 5 IV features?
Allegedly, Sony Xperia 5 IV will have a 6.1-inch screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus technology. The device will host the 12 Megapixel IMX557 main camera, 12 Megapixel IMX363 ultra wide-angle camera and 12 Megapixel IMX663 lens with 3x optical zoom support, which we also saw in the Xperia 5 III, which was introduced last year.
The most striking part about the phone: its processor. Most of the flagship smartphones introduced in 2022 used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It was predicted that this would be the case with the Xperia 5 IV as well. However, according to the information received, Sony plans to include Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus in its new high-end phone.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor is expected to be introduced in the second half of 2022. That means we won’t be seeing the Sony Xperia 5 IV before July. On the other hand, it should be noted that contrary to the claims, the company may directly prefer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or another processor in its new flagship.
