Some information has surfaced about Qualcomm’s model number SM8550 chipset. Since the model number of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the company’s current flagship chipset, is SM8450, the features that emerged with the new naming are thought to belong to the likely Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Qualcomm, which has not supported the AV1 codec in any chipset until now, wants to change this situation according to new information. It is stated that the chipset will support native AV1 decoding of the Adreno GPU.
